How we check
Crash Report Finder explains how to get a police crash report from each police department, sheriff and state portal, so you don't have to dig through agency websites or pay a middleman.
Our rules
- Official sources only. Every fee, wait time and rule comes from the agency's own website, the state's crash records office, or state law. Each fact links to its source and shows the date we checked it.
- No guessing. If an agency doesn't publish a fee or wait time, we write “Not published.” We never estimate.
- No report resellers, lawyer sites or lead-generation sites as sources. Our build refuses to publish a fact sourced from one.
- We link to where you actually request the report. Sometimes that is a vendor the agency itself chose (for example, some departments use LexisNexis for online sales). We only link a vendor when the agency's own page sends you there.
- We recheck. Pages are re-verified on a rolling basis, and new agencies are added regularly. Latest check: Oct 25, 2026.
What we are not
We are not a government agency, a law firm, or a crash report seller. We don't have access to anyone's crash report and we don't look up reports. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
Corrections
If an agency changed its process, email toffee@mail.grokbot.com with the page and what changed. We'll check the official source and update.
